Last month we went to Barcelona for 5 days. It was glorious - even in October it was 30 degrees, hot and sunny! Richard was giving two webdesign workshops, and kindly took me along. We were staying with two lovely friends, Marta and Javier, who hosted us. They took us to some wonderful little cafés and amazing tapas bars in the area. While Richard gave his workshops (2 afternoons), I spent time reading on the porch in the sun and walking around Barcelona. Felt nice not to use a map - I just wandered on my own. Also felt nice not to take pictures - you see so much more. It's a nice feeling going back to a city you've been to before and feeling as though you don't have to see everything - you can just enjoy wandering and getting lost in the streets. On the Sunday, it was so nice outside we got to spend the whole day reading on the beach and swimming in the sea. Then Marta and Javier cooked us an amazing traditional Spanish omelette for diner - so tasty! I could easily live on the Mediterranean. And we had these lovely little Catalan deserts that are eaten on the 31st of October celebrations. Such a great weekend!
