Richard and I spent Saturday afternoon walking around Bamburgh village, located 1 hour north of Newcastle. As far as historians know, the village was created around 547 A.D. The
CASTLE is 9 acres long and it one of the largest inhabited (yes, people still live there!) in England. It is very well preserved and you can visit the majestic inside, which we did. It is located on top of a cliff with a beautiful view of the North Sea. After walking on the beach, exploring the castle and the village, we took a drive to Seaton Sluice because we remembered seeing a cute little
PUB in the countryside last time we visited! We somehow managed to find it again. It was built in the 18th century and became an Inn, circa 1896. And it has definitely preserved it's English-country charm. We sat near the fireplace while enjoying some beer, fish and chips, and the family-friendly, warm atmosphere!
