Lake District 2

Richard and I spent last weekend camping in the Lake District. We stayed on a campsite just outside the town of Pooley Bridge, on the North end of Ullswater Lake. It was so lovely! There wasn't one drop of rain all weekend and we both got a bit of colour on our skin.

We spent the first day exploring Pooley Bridge and going on a hike up a forested mountain just beside the town. After the hike, we went to one of the local pubs for a few pints and a nice meal. We then walked back to the tent while the sun was setting.

On day 2, we meet up with Melinda and her husband, Steve, in Ambleside. We went for a nice lunch and then for a hike up the hill nearby, with a beautiful view of Ambleside! It was another beautiful day and we had such a great time talking and walking.

On day 3, we packed up our stuff and went to Patterdale, a town on the South of Ullswater lake. We walked up a hill to see the lake from high above. Then walked down to the lake for a very very cold swim! We were on this little pebble beach on a lovely little cove we found. It was so amazing and my favourite moment of the trip.

Aside from that, it can't be forgotten that last Friday was Canada Day! I wore some red and white for the occasion but unfortunately, we couldn't find any Canadian beer to drink (had to settle for Stella). We had thought of going down to London for the Canada Day festivities (apparently more than 1000 people went this year). But I didn't fancy going to London, I'd rather spend time in nature. Maybe next year!
